Living a Warrior Life was born when my husband Mark was on his second deployment in Afghanistan. I picked the word “warrior” to be in a title partly in honor of him, but also because I believe we ALL can be warriors in our own way. This blog is dedicated to encouraging you to better health. You can be a health warrior along with me!
Just a few years ago, my health was at a very low point. I was fatigued. I could sleep and sleep but never feel totally rested. I had adult acne. I had chronic stomach and skin problems. Gluten became a problem. I couldn’t slow down or enjoy life like I needed to. I was “too busy” to exercise.

As you explore this site, you’ll learn in more detail about what I did to recover my healthy self. But it wasn’t just one thing. We need a health team to keep us at optimal functioning. This “team” includes real food nutrition, exercise, essential oils, stress management, toxin reduction, and restful sleep. These are just some of the techniques that I used to be where I am today: SO much healthier!
On a more biographical note, I’m a 30-something woman who is passionate about life. I was born and bred in Texas and will forever call myself a Texan. After meeting in 2010, I married the love of my life, Mark, in April 2014. In our short two and a half years of marriage, we have lived in four homes across three states. (That’s the Army life!)
I graduated with my first college degree in 2009 as a violin performance major. But as you can see, health, wellness, and science are really my passion! After dealing with chronic health issues myself, I wanted to pass on my first-hand knowledge and research to others. I want to help YOU be a healthier person! At the end of 2017, I will be a RN with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, cooking, being outdoors, and spending time with my husband and our German Shepherd Dog. Welcome to my world! Let’s walk this path together and embrace a healthier life!
