When a door closes….
A thriving military career
Officer Separation Boards
Your commitment to completing your degree as a Soldier illustrates strong character and dedication. An educated Soldier is the Army’s best asset, and we are immensely grateful to be able to call men and women of your exceptional caliber our comrades in arms.

Going through the emotions
Based on the Army restructuring into a smaller force, several of our most experienced and professional officers will be required to separate from the Army. We have made these painful decisions very carefully to ensure officers affected are treated fairly and with dignity and respect. Your personal contributions and selfless service have made a tremendous difference in the security of our Nation. It is my difficult duty to notify you of your selection for separation by a board convened under the provisions of Title 10, United States Code (USC), Section 638a….On behalf of the Army’s senior leaders, I extend my thanks to you for your commitment, sacrifice and dedication. Our Nation owes you a debt of gratitude for your selfless service throughout times of peace and war. We wish you and your Family the very best in the years to come.
Feeling of betrayal and shame
